Now we had an idea for a product we all loved and would use ourselves - something perfect for beach adventures, poolside fun and even school galas and swimming lessons. Then came the brainstorming. What if it had a hood so the towel could drape over your shoulders and give a bit of shade while you walked along the beach for an ice cream? What if we added a zippered pocket to keep valuables safe or to give kids a spot to stash goggles and swimming caps after a gala? Next, we had to figure out the sizing. The towels needed to be generous - big enough for even the body-conscious to feel comfortably wrapped up and large enough to lie on the beach without ending up with a sandcastle in your bikini bottoms by the time you stand up. |

After a few measuring tape debates, we settled on three sizes:
They’re roomy, comfortable and practical for every member of the family. From sketches to stitches, the TowelTote slowly began to take shape. The pages of our notebooks filled with doodles, dimensions and fabric swatches as our ideas turned into something we could finally see and touch. Of course, the fabric had to live up to the design. It needed to be super absorbent and quick-drying. Nobody enjoys drying off with a soggy towel! And it had to be lightweight and easy to pack, because heavy, bulky beach towels are the worst to travel with. Cue the search for the right fabric supplier. Our idea was slowly starting to come to life - and the weave had truly begun. |
